Comments: This native plant is the source of the            
cranberries used in cooking.  It is a low, spreading        
evergreen with a fine texture.  The pink flowers appear in  
spring and are followed by the red fruit in the fall.  The  
small leave become purplish in the winter.  Grow the plant  
in an acid soil and provide winter protection in northern   
areas.
