Viburnum trilobum--American Cranberrybush

Comments: The white flowers of American Cranberrybush are   
produced in late spring or early summer, with the larger,   
sterile flowers at the outside of the cluster.  The fruits  
ripen in August and are red, edible and quite acid.  The    
flavor resembles that of a cranberry.  The fall color is    
red.                                                        

Cultivars:                                                  
   'Alfredo' - A compact, rounded plant reaching a height   
     and spread of 6 feet.                                  
   'Bailey Compact' - A compact form with good red fall     
     color.                                                 
   'Compactum' - A rounded, compact plant with a height     
     and spread of 6 feet.                                  
   'Hahs' - Larger than other cultivars but with good       
     flower and fruit production.                           
   'Leonard's Dwarf' - A compact, multi-stemmed plant       
     giving a broom-like appearance.                        
   'Wentworth' - Large red fruit are produced in quanity.
