Viburnum lantana--Wayfaring Tree

Type: deciduous shrub                                       
Annual Growth Rate: 12 to 18 inches                         
Flowers: white flowers                                      
Fruits: yellow then red then black                          

Comments: Wayfaring tree tolerates dry soil and high pH.    
The small, white flowers are borne in flat-topped clusters  
in mid- to late spring.  This is one of the first           
viburnums to bloom.  The fruits are green flushed with      
red, then turn black.                                       

Cultivars:                                                  
   'Mohican' - A compact, rounded plant 6 feet tall and     
     wide.                                                  
   'Variegata' - The leaves are green and yellow.
