Viburnum carlesi--Korean Spice Viburnum

Type: deciduous shrub                                       
Annual Growth Rate: less than 12 inches                     
Flowers: pink buds, white flowers                           
Fruits: red to black                                        

Comments: In spring, Korean spice viburnum produces         
fragrant white flowers tinged with pink.  The fall foliage  
color is reddish to wine red.  Fruits are produced but are  
usually eaten by the birds.                                 

Cultivars:                                                  
   'Aurora' - Medium-sized plant producing pink buds that   
     open to white flowers.                                 
   'Cayuga' - A compact form however listed as the same     
     size as the species.                                   
   'Compactum' - A dwarf cultivar reaching a height and     
     spread of 3 feet.
