Comments: Sabin Juniper can be used on poor sites or in urban settings. This species is usually seen in the form of one of its cultivars when used in landscapes. Consider Sabin Juniper for colder, northern climates.
Cultivars:
'Arcadia' - Good for foundations or mass planting with
an 18 inch height and a spread of about 5 feet.
'Blue Danube' - A semi-upright with a height of about
30 inches and spread of about 5 feet. The foliage is
bluish-green.
'Blue Forest' - A slow growing cultivar only 1 foot
tall. The ends of the branches are vertical.
'Broadmoor' - A 1-foot tall plant with a mounding habit
and a spread of about 5 feet.
'Buffalo' - A low, spreading form with bright green
foliage.
'Mini Arcade' - Lower and more spreading than 'Arcadia'
with soft, green foliage.
'Monna' (Calgary Carpet TM) - A low plant, only 10
inches tall and spreading 6 feet. The foliage is
green.
'Monard' (Moor-Dense TM) - A denser form of 'Broadmoor'
that is about a foot tall and 6 feet wide.
'Pepin' - Blue-green foliage on a plant about 3 feet
tall and 5 feet wide. Reported as more resistant to
blight.
'Skandia' - An 18-inch tall plant spreading only about
3 feet. The foliage is bright green and feathery.
var. tamariscifolia - A fast-growing plant with a
height of 1 foot and spread of up to 10 feet. The
foliage is dark green.
var. tamariscifolia 'New Blue' - Bluish foliage on a
plant 2 feet tall and 10 feet wide.
