Comments: This grass is usually present in landscapes in the form of one of the red-leaved cultivars. In cool climates grow the plant in full sun, however, in hot climates provide some shade. The plant will grow well in poor soil. Red-leaved cultivars should be planted where the leaves will be viewed with back lighting from the sun.
Propagation: Division.
Cultivars:
'Red Baron' - The base of the leaf blades is green but
becoming red at the tips. The color is more intense
late in the season.
'Rubra' - Red foliage.
