in sun or partial shade but the flowers last longer in
partial shade. Any ordinary garden soil is sufficient.

Propagation: The bulbs are planted in August or September.
The bulbs multiply rapidly and are divided after the
foliage has matured.

Cultivars:
   'Gigantea' - Larger, blue flowers.
