Stat-USA Consolidates its Information Collection on the Stat-USA WWW Server

Beginning June 15, 1995, STAT-USA consolidated its          
Internet operations by shifting its huge library of         
trade, economic, and business documents to the STAT-USA     
World Wide Web site:                                        
www.stat-usa.gov. The previous STAT-USA gopher and file     
transfer protocol servers are discontinued.

Since its inception on June 15, 1994, the STAT-USA          
Internet information service has become a highly demanded   
resource -- over 10,000 connections are made to STAT-USA    
in a typical week. The surge in popularity of the World     
Wide Web over this period has allowed STAT-USA to put       
advanced tools to work for Internet users interested in     
data from the National Trade Data Bank and the National     
Economic, Social, and Environmental Data Bank.              
Subscriptions to the STAT-USA World Wide Web information    
service are available for as little as $25.95. Federal      
Depository Libraries continue to qualify for no-charge      
access.
