CASID is multidisciplinary unit, organized with the college of social science in cooperation with the office of the Dean of International Studies and programs. Research interest groups, seminars, conferences, and publications focus on topics and issues that surpass disciplinary boundaries and encourage exchanges with faculty and students in professional and applied areas. CASID has been designated by the U.S. Department of Education as a National resource center in International Studies and has been awarded funding. CASID supports for the development and promotion of undergraduate and graduate programs related to international development. It publishes monographs, and resource guides, and sponsors a variety of lectures, seminars, symposia and conferences.
