Michigan International Trade Authority (MITA)

MITA is located in the Michigan Jobs Commission. It is      
responsible for promoting exports of Michigan produced      
goods and services (all products and all industries) as     
well as stimulating investment in the state by foreign      
based firms. MITA has offices in Europe, Hong Kong,         
Japan, Canada and representatives in Mexico and southern    
Africa.                                                     

Services Offored:                                           
-Provides referrals to public/ private marketing            
       organizations statewide.                             

-Organizes and conducts targeted trade missions and         
       shows.                                               

-Compiles and produces export directories.                  

-Conducts trade seminars; delivers export                   
assistance,including direct company support; agent          
importer and distributer search and qualification; joint    
venture search and qualification; advertising through       
foreign offices ( some of the these services are offered    
on a fee basis)                                             

-Maintains a toll-free hotline, 1-800-346 2382 to           
respond to business questions on export related issues.
