Julian Samora Research Institute (JSRI)

Julian Samora Research Institute (JSRI) is the Midwest's    
premier policy research and out reach center to the         
Hispanic community for education, leadership, and           
community empowerment. JSRI is the unit to the College      
of                                                          
Social Sciences and Agriculture and Natural resources at    
Michigan State University.                                  

Services Provided:                                          

- Generation of program of research and evaluation to       
examine the social, economic, educational, and political    
condition of Latino communities                             

- Transmission of research findings to academic             
institutions, government officials, community               
leaders, and private sectors through publications,          
public policy seminars, workshops, and private              
consultations                                               

- Provision of technical expertise and support to Latino    
communities in an effort to develop policy responses to     
local problems                                              

- Development of Hispanic human capital, including          
leadership development/ empowerment and education
