Executive Summary: A Food Safety and Quality Science Fellows program, a week-long educational program for youth aged 15-17, will be developed. The objective is to increase understanding of food-related risks and policy and scientific bases for risk management decisions. It will be conducted on the campus of North Carolina State University and at food production and processing sites. NCSU Faculty will conduct the program. Approximately 60 youth and 10 adult leaders will be involved in hands-on processing industry tours, and discussions with young food industry professionals.
