Abstract: Two issues of a four-page newsletter, Food Safety Update, include articles on choosing safe donated prepared foods, instructions for using a bimetallic thermometer, E. coli 0157:H7, handwashing, and new food safety resources. A 3- fold brochure, Safe and Healthy Bag Lunches, gives a food group outline with storage recommendations (time and temperature) as well as suggestions for packing safe lunches. A Food Safety Education Resource Directory lists materials available through the University of Massachusetts-Extension program.
