ABSTRACT: Discussion of the philosophies and theories of
language learning focuses on the development of a
hypermedia language program. Levels of knowledge analysis
are discussed, communicative language proficiency is
described, learner interactions with the hypermedia program
are examined, and the relationships of communication and
