ABSTRACT: Results of an undergraduate evaluation
questionnaire administered to majors in 12 Engineering and
Physical Science departments and programs at the University
of California, Berkeley, are presented. Data are offered in
tabular and textual formats. Findings are summarized in an
introductory section, along with recommendations regarding
procedures and topical matters. Within the Evaluative
Findings section, the following topics are covered:
curriculum; teaching and faculty-student interaction
outside the classroom; affirmative action; competition,
testing, grading and GPA; student workload; and overall
satisfaction. Appendices include information on
characteristics of the student population and methods of
data collection and analysis. (CS)
