ABSTRACT: This document is one of three publications
designed to establish guidelines for the elimination of sex
bias and sex stereotyping and the establishment of sex
fairness in vocational education programs in Colorado. As
an administrative reference, it provides background
material about the problem and a plan of action for
correcting it for school and school district
administrators. The ten sections of the report cover the
following topics: definitions; a rational for sex equity;
legislative overview, including provisions of Title II
Education Amendments 1976 and Title IX Education Amendments
1972, Public Law 94-482, Office of Civil Rights-Federal
Register March 21, 1979, and a quota system approved by a
court; underuse of males and females in vocational
education throughout Colorado; policies, goals,
and objectives; action planning; tools for assessment;
developing staff/student recruitment plans; resource lists
(bibliographies); and references. (KC)
