TITLE: Legislation and litigation involving the employment
of disabled women: An overview.

YEAR PUBLISHED: 1984
JOURNAL: Personnel-and-Guidance-Journal; 1984 Feb Vol 62(6)
346-349

ABSTRACT: Presents a literature review of the current
legislation, interpretive litigation, and court cases
relevant to the employment of disabled women in order to
create an awareness of the current societal trends and to
focus on the actions necessary for challenging
noncompliance to these laws. Because disabled women need
assistance in documenting discrimination cases, filing
grievances, and obtaining legal assistance, human service
professionals (e.g., the rehabilitation counselor,
affirmative action officer, and special educator) must
become information sources for this population. (23 ref)
