ABSTRACT: Developments in education, employment, and the
court system concerning the status of women are covered in
this newsletter issue. In addition to the news items, an
article criticizing the Reagan-appointed Advisory Council on
Women's Education is presented. The article, which was
prepared by the Citizens Council on Women's Education, is
entitled "What Is the Record of the 1982-3 National Advisory
Council on Women's Educational Programs?" News topics
include the following: violations of Title IX by many
student health policies and by underrepresentation of women
in community college vocational education programs; the
University of New Hampshire's efforts to prevent sexual
harassment and rape; a request for information on campus
gang rape; how to distinguish sexual harassment from
flirtation; sex bias in reference letters; minority women in
academics; research on Chicanas in higher education; a
research fund for work by Latin American women; sex
discrimination in faculty salaries; opportunities for women
in technical fields; a Supreme Court ruling on pensions for
female retirees; retraining women in higher education; sex
discrimination court cases; enrollment of female college
students; developments on campus affecting women, women and
sports, women's studies, and financial support for women's
