ABSTRACT: This second volume of the University of
California, Irvine (UCI), Student Affirmative Action (SAA)
Five-Year Plan contains the complete student affirmative
action plans as submitted by 33 academic and administrative
units at UCI. The volume is organized by type of unit:
academic units, academic retention units, outreach units,
and student life units. A list is provided of the units
within each of the four types. Each unit provided updates of
their 1983-1984 SAA activities and plans for 1984-1985. Each
unit relates their activities to the revised SAA goals and
objectives. A chart provides an overview of the total number
of 1984-1985 SAA activities submitted by 33 units at UCI.
For each unit, information is provided on the number of
comprehensive programs versus the number that are smaller
scale activities, projects, or events. Other charts
summarize information for each unit such as: number of 1984
1985 activities and whether they are ongoing or planned, the
general orientation or focus of the unit, the unit's SAA
target group, and two examples of typical SAA activities.
