ABSTRACT: An update of the University of California, Irvine,
Student Affirmative Action (SAA) plan is presented for 1985
1986. SAA activities planned by both academic and
administrative units are covered, such as activities
designed to: stimulate greater student involvement,
establish clearer life goals and career linkages, enhance
cultural awareness, and improve mach and science skills. The
following types of units are covered: academic units,
academic retention units, outreach units, and student life
units. This volume contains an assessment sheet for 1984
1985 SAA activities from the 11 academic and 22
administrative units that are included in the plan. These
assessments represent internal evaluations of SAA efforts
undertaken during the 1984-1985 academic year. For each
unit, charts provide information on program activities that
either occurred are planned, as well as program objectives,
target groups, and anticipated and unanticipated outcomes.
