TITLE: Prince George's Community College 1988-93 Master
Plan.

YEAR PUBLISHED: 1988
NOTE: 22 p.

ABSTRACT: Designed to integrate strategic planning for
Prince George's Community College's (PGCCs) programs,
budgets, and facilities, this master plan for 1988-93 offers
information on the college's planning framework, mission,
programs, and institutional priorities. The major features
of the plan are a situational analysis and environmental
scan, which examine PGCC's market share, enrollment trends,
and student demographics, goals, attendance patterns, and
program choices. The environmental scan also considers the
potential impact of a projected decline in high school
graduates, an increase in the number of older county
residents, the state of the local economy, increasing
competition among higher education institutions, and demands
for institutional assessment and accountability. The final
section of the master plan sets forth PGCC's priorities for
the coming years with respect to: (1) increasing the
representation of women and minorities among faculty and
administrative staff; (2) creating mechanisms to increase
the educational success of students; (3) increasing the
effectiveness of the marketing effort; (4) expanding the
college's role in the economic development of Prince
George's County; and (5) supplementing the college's
operating budget through alternative funding sources. (EJV)

This is an ERIC database document. ERIC is the National
Education Information Network for providing ready access
to the literature of education -descriptions of exemplary
programs, research and development efforts, and related
information that can be used in developing more effective
educational programs. The ERIC database is currently
available on CD-ROM in the main library (ground floor of
the west wing) at Michigan State University. To locate
ERIC documents in the library identify the first line of
each record (i.e., the field ERIC TITLE NUMBER). ED
following ERIC TITLE NUMBER indicates an ERIC document,
an unpublished research study. Most of these items are
available in the Microforms library, located on the 3rd
floor of the west wing. All you need is the six digit ED
number. If EJ follows ERIC TITLE NUMBER the item is a
journal article. The complete journal name is listed after
the code JOURNAL.
