TITLE: Collective Bargaining in Higher Education and the
Professions. Bibliography No. 15.

YEAR PUBLISHED: 1987
NOTE: 109 p.
AVAILABILITY: York, NY 10010 ($20.00).

ABSTRACT: The 15th volume of the "Collective Bargaining in
Higher Education and the Professions" bibliography is
intended to continue as a major research tool for those
involved in either the study of or the practice of
collective bargaining in higher education. It, along with
the other volumes, documents the historical development and
growth of collective bargaining in higher eduction. This
particular volume, unlike the others, does not contain a
listing of court cases and administrative orders (because
the volume of reported cases has grown to a proportion that
referencing them is best left to the courts and legal
reporting services). Five sections include the following:
(1) faculty bibliography (e.g. academic freedom, collective
bargaining, comparable worth, due process, financial
exigency, fringe benefits, merit pay, non-faculty,
retirement, retrenchment, salaries, strikes, tenure, and
women faculty); (2) professions and professionals
bibliography (health care administration and institutions,
health care professions, nurses, professions, and
professions-sports); (3) information guides (bibliographies
and directories, resources and periodicals, and useful
sources of information); (4) indices (author and subject)
and (5) acronyms and abbreviations. (SM)

This is an ERIC database document. ERIC is the National
Education Information Network for providing ready access
to the literature of education -descriptions of exemplary
programs, research and development efforts, and related
information that can be used in developing more effective
educational programs. The ERIC database is currently
available on CD-ROM in the main library (ground floor of
the west wing) at Michigan State University. To locate
ERIC documents in the library identify the first line of
each record (i.e., the field ERIC TITLE NUMBER). ED
following ERIC TITLE NUMBER indicates an ERIC document,
an unpublished research study. Most of these items are
available in the Microforms library, located on the 3rd
floor of the west wing. All you need is the six digit ED
number. If EJ follows ERIC TITLE NUMBER the item is a
journal article. The complete journal name is listed after
the code JOURNAL.
