ABSTRACT: Examines the current status of black scholars in
colleges and universities and finds that they are not
represented in any significant numbers at the predominantly
white institutions. The apparent inability of these
institutions to maintain goals of affirmative action is
inconsistent with their ability to sustain commitment to
other issues and concerns. (MD)
