Three Men and a Tenor
Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at 8 p.m.
Wharton Center for Performing Arts

Great Music! Great Comedy! Great Fun! Come see one of America’s finest and funniest acts – from Michigan! This incredible musical foursome began performing years ago as members of the Men’s Glee Club while they were students at MSU. They followed their dreams as college students and have been wowing audiences ever since! Three Men and a Tenor is a high-energy, comedy-based a capella quartet (no instruments, just an amazing use of human voices). They have shared the stage with American legends such as Chuck Berry, Dionne Warwick, Bob Newhart, Peter Cetera, Pat Boone, Lee Greenwood and The Beach Boys. “Wow!” “Awesome!” “Hilarious!” and “Not to be missed” is how teens talk about Three Men and a Tenor. You won’t want to miss their innovative renditions of rock and pop classics. Motown, doo-wop, country and oldies laced with liberal doses of humor! Come to 4-H Exploration Days to see, hear and enjoy Three Men and a Tenor! (Name badge required for admission.)

Michigan 4-H Youth-Adult Policy for 4-H Overnight Events

In keeping with the new Michigan 4 H Youth-Adult Policy for Overnight Events, any youth aged 18, 19 or 20 at the time of the event must not be housed with or share bathrooms with younger, unrelated youth unless he or she has completed a background check, including one reference check and a criminal history check. County MSU Extension staff are responsible for ensuring that the background check is completed before the event. Beginning in 2008, chaperones must be at least 21 years old at the time of the event.

New Scholarship Support for Field Staff Who Serve as Resource People

Field staff who serve as session instructors or county conference assistants (CCAs) will attend at no cost beginning in 2008. Field staff who serve as session helpers will receive an $80 scholarship which is approximately half the participant conference fee. (Volunteer instructors, helpers and CCAs will continue to receive a full scholarship for the participant conference fee.)

New Promotional and Orientation DVD

A new 4-H Exploration Days Promotional and Orientation DVD will be available in March. Each county will be provided with a copy. This will not be available on-line due to the file size of each video and the quality compromise that would occur to make the file size something that could be downloaded.  The current video and podcast clip now on-line from the main 4-H Exploration Days web page will continue to be available.

4-H Business and Entrepreneurship Expo

Three 4-H Business and Entrepreneurship Expo sessions will give youth an opportunity to learn how to start their own business or learn new ways to build a current one. Participants in these sessions will showcase and sell their products during specific meal times. These sessions are: Raising, Marketing and Profiting From Your Market Livestock Project (302), Be Your Own Boss (307) and Growing Your Farm Stand Business (314).
