What is Family & Consumer Sciences?
Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) develops research based programs to facilitate education, discovery, and outreach to enhance the daily lives of communities in the state of Michigan and nation wide. Family Consumer Science program leaders, staff, and students partner with businesses, the commercial industry, state and federal governments, other universities, individuals, and groups to develop creative solutions concerning community issues and challenges facing our state and the world.

FCS programs can be divided into the following program areas:

 Family Resource Management,
 Food, Nutrition and Health,
 Food Safety, and
 Human Development
