Tilling the Soil of Opportunity - a nationally
recognized and tested agricultural entrepreneurship
program that will help grow agriculture buisness. Nine
courses will be offered across Michigan during the winter
of 2003 - call your county extension agent for more
information. There are ten weekly 3 hour sessions starting
as early as January 7, 2003.
Northern Michigan Small Farm Conference - January 25,

MSU FRUIT SCHOOL
will be held February 7-9, 2003 at Clarksville Horticulture
Experiment Station. Information and registration material

Upper Midwest Organic Farming Conference will be held February 27 to
March 1, 2003 at the LaCrosse Center in LaCross, Wisconsin. The UMOFC presents
a unique, farmer centered conference. This is an educational and networking event
for farmers and others in the organic community. Please see the MOSES web site for more information.
American Farmland Trust's National Conference, March 10-12, 2003, Pacific Grove, California.
The goal of this conference is to bring together people to share new information,
analyze their success and and learn by example. Conference themes are: 1) Enacting Effective Planning and Growth
Management Policies; 2) Protecting Land with Agricultural Conservation Easements; 3) Inproving Stewardship
