"Remember to Vote in November" |
Here are some pictures
from the Master Gardener Society of Oakland County. Our theme for
the Oct. 6, 2004 meeting was, "Remember to vote in November".
Following this theme, we presented a video of the White House and
Gardens "Upon These Grounds", and a visit from President and Mrs.
Abraham Lincoln.
President Lincoln spoke of, "The Election Campaign of 1864", and
also recited the Gettysburg Address. Mrs. Lincoln spoke of "Ladies'
interests of the times". President Lincoln was marched into the
meeting by a Bloomfield High School Drum Major, as "Hail to the
Chief" was played.
The Master Gardener Singers, gave an excellent performance of
patriotic songs. Patriotic bookmarks were handed out by President
& Mrs. Lincoln. The program ended with the audience singing, "God
Bless America", and the playing of "Taps".
