"Need
help to identify this plant. It sprouts from pink/white little
"cones?" about 1/2 to 1 inch long and a 1/4 inch around (or
larger) which are produce at the root mass. They come loose
easily and separately at the end of the growing season. These
are slow to sprout in the spring. Plant blooms a lot and the
blooms last many days. I started it 6 years ago from cluster
give me."
John Rice of Monroe County and an
anonymous emailer correctly identified this plant as Achimenes which has several common names including:
Magic flower, Orchid pansy, Widow's tears, Nut-orchid,
Mother's tears, Cupid's Bow. |
