Plant No. 11

Posted August 27, 2004

This plant was grown from a seed which a friend gave to me. She said the plant would be a Himalayan Pampas - and I know this is not correct! The seed grew in to a beautiful plant. It does remind me of Impatiens "Busy Lizzie".

1 -This plant appears to be the annual Balsam plant (Impatiens balsamina). It grows easily from seed and may also propagated by cuttings. It has many rose-like flowers that grow close to the stem. It often branches in older plants. The stem is quite succulent in nature. - Sherlock

2 - Not sure but is it Oleander?

3 - Impatiens balsamina, or old fashioned balsam. The plant is also called "touch me nots" because of the way the seeds are propelled from the pods when ripe. Hope this helps. - Charlene Schneider
