I found this growing in the crawl space of a
seldom used vacation home. The house is located in a wooded
subdivision in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. It is
growing in almost total darkness and with very little
moisture, other than humidity. |
From Chrisopher in Michigan - This is probably
Epifagus sp.
a.k.a beech drops, pine drops, Indian pipe, cancer root.
2 - From the picture this resembles what we in Michigan call
a Coral
Mushroom. Here it grows in woody areas following damp and
dreary days
when our air temp is 70 or so.
