Adopt a-Highway is a Michigan Department of Transportation (M DOT) program designed to help keep the state's highway roadsides clean and attractive. Participants adopt both sides or a section of state highway roadside to clean up over a two year period. A minimum Two-mile stretch of roadway is recommended. All types of state highways may be adopted, including two-lane roads, limited access highways, boulevards and business routes.

The Lenawee MasterGardener Association has adopted the two-mile stretch of highway in front of the Hidden Lake Gardens on M-50 between Pentecost and Beebe. We meet three weekends during the summer for the cleanup. This summer we will meet on: July 15 at 10:00 am, and Sept 15 - 23:final date to be determined. For more information contact Annette Gidner at e-mail or call her at 517-467-4580, or Jim Chamberlain at 517-467-7014. First-timers must register in advance.
