Master Gardeners from two counties Macomb and Oakland both Linda Thomas and Lucille Day (in photo) have done work at this Memorial Garden in Sanilac County called Primrose Path. This Community Garden was one of several in this town, created by the Late" Flower Man of Deckerville" Pete Montney.
REMEMBRANCES of days gone by and a reminder that no one ever came forth to replace our flower man: Master Gardeners relatives of the Pete Montney family were in Deckerville this week to plant floral reminders of Pete and Ila at the Primrose Path in downtown. It was great to see the girls (Linda, Mary, Lucille,) when they were in town. This is a gentle reminder to all of us that there is a need in our community today (as Always) for more folks to volunteer to do something for the community. Remembering Pete and his planting and nurturing of floral tributes in the community should create an interest on the part of all of us to brighten up the community.
