Garden Walk "A Day in the Garden with Lucille Day"


Macomb County Master Gardeners in the heat of the day with Gloria Benoit under the Sun Umbrella and later in the cool evening, the men arrived including Craig Bush, Carl Day and Martin Kamensky.

 

Garden walk in a Macomb Twp. Garden which is terraced with wooden retaining walls. Rich and Geri Hammerick proudly show their composting results, with gigantic specimens of perennials and vegetables.

Beautify Our Downtown in Eastpointe

Pictured is Suzanne Pixley or Myra Golden of Macomb County and two other MG volunteers for this second year Project BOD-Beautify Our Downtown in Eastpointe This is a DDA Project with multiple participating partners from the community, coordinated by Master Gardeners, Junior Master Gardeners and 4-H Students all involved in the design and building of the Children's Garden Description to Each of the four parts of this Garden Tour: starting with Project BOD . . . Beautify Our Downtown. Creation of a new Corner Park, refurbishing planters, refurbishing established beds, and the creation
of a new Children's Garden. The project is also responsible for the planters on the east side of Gratiot, and for the flower beds on the west side of Gratiot, both on the south side of Gratiot from Couzens to 9 Mile Road. An ongoing Master Gardener Project is the Halfway Schoolhouse Gardens, which are located just west of 9 Mile and Gratiot at 15500 Nine Mile Rd. The 1872 School House will also be open to visitors.
