Macomb Master Gardeners in May 2003 at a
Native Tour in St Clair Shores on a canal lot by the lake Joyce
Janicki was introduced to the enlightening view of Sara Stein in her
award winning book, Noah's Garden. Joyce has been planting Natives for
the past nine years, she has found that natives aren't only easy to
live with but also incredibly beautiful and very attractive to birds
and butterflies. We enjoyed the tour Natalee and Peggy in the
picture.

Macomb County Master Gardener Tour in Northern Armada July 2003
Jenny Depa passion for herbs has resulted in her recent endeavor to
start a small cottage business featuring herbcrafts and folk art
located in the workshop ‘out-back.’ The barnyard animals complete
this pastoral garden setting! With the Horses is Vada Billings M G and
Dennis and Jenny Depa-Karl in workshop.

Macomb County Master Gardeners on the
"Romeo Library Garden Tour" at the beautiful C & S Arboretum. The
garden which is located in Armada, has an extensive conifer
collection.
Posing in the shade for some relief from the hot day are the garden's
owners Craig and Sharon Busch along with MG Pat Cencek and her friend.

C& S Gardens is a 3 acre arboretum of meandering pathways and informal
gardens created in a natural setting. Craig and Sharon Busch have
created this mature and extensive collection of dwarf and unusual
conifers, Japanese maples, Alpine, Bog and Water Gardens. Also many
companion plants, perennials, hostas and herbs. Sometimes when touring
you are lucky enough to experience a “Bullfrog Concerto.” |

Macomb County Master Gardeners at a Garden
Walk in Eastpointe in June, 2003. This is Natalee Neely's collection
garden which is almost an acre in size. We saw lavender hedges, a
pond, Trompe L'oeil (A French term literally meaning "trick the
eye."), Gargoyles and More!
