The 1999 NACAA Annual Meeting and Personal Improvement Conference was held in Omaha Nebraska in August. A Michigan Delegation from MAEA included 12 agents and one Life Member. Four were MAEA officers and voting delegates at the convention. Three were National award winners. Two were winners of the Distinguished Service Award. Two were winners of the Achievement Award. Arlen Leholm and Gail Arent were attending a meeting of Agricultural Extension Administrators in Omaha and attended several NACAA functions with the Michigan Delegation. Can you name the people in the picture below? Who is missing?

We also had a State Night Out were all the Michigan participants spent the evening together enjoying each others company. We all had on our MSUE shirts from serving a snack of Michigan Apples donated by the Michigan Apple Committee during a break that day at the annual meeting.

We had to
attend the usual awards Banquets, The evenings were pretty full.
We also attended Tours of Nebraska Agriculture. I went on a tour of
unusual Agricultural Enterprises (which is Nebraska is anything which isn't a grain and
livestock farm). I visited a turf farm,
the only winery in Nebraska

and a Pumpkin Patch which must be one of the most successful Ag
Enterprises I have seen and one of the largest retail farm markets
I
also saw an unusual livestock opperation a llama farm which worked together with the local
4H office to supply llamas to for 4H llama projects
