Introductions

Approval/Additions to Agenda - add International Programs discussion to Unfinished Business

Secretary Report - Jan Wendland moved to approve, Michelle Curell seconded, motion carried.

Treasurer Report - Kris faxed treasurers report. We have 5,167.81. Kris volunteered to be treasurer again. Jodi moved to approve, Aletha seconded, motion carried.

Correspondence - none

Committee Reports:
1. National 4-H Congress - just starting out, cost is $825

2. 4-H Winterfest- February 7-8, 2004 (We have a committee- cost $25)

Unfinished Business
Age Decision - July 1st is when we find out the decision from the State 4-H Office - effective October 1st.
International - Jan Wendland needs 3 host families for Belize exchange, 2 Polish exchange need to be place, IFFYs to be placed, LABO - most youth are placed, Jamacians all placed in Ottawa Co.
New Business
Set new dates and location for the next year-
September 9 - Tuscola Co.
December 9 - Frankenmuth
March 9 - Bay
June 8 - Midland
Regional Linkers - State Office representative (10% of their time), Help with communications, none assigned yet, we should have one for the Sept. meeting,

Minutes of Last Meeting - motion to approved Michelle Curell, Jodi seconded. Motion carried.

Thoughts about spring conference - good location, watch acronyms around new employees

New committee assignments by regions - EC Region is responsible for Programs Standing Committee
Programs - need volunteers, ballots done, try to link with National Association program, Kelli & Bobbi volunteered. It was discussed - Can we use EC region group as the whole committee? Agreed on yes and selected a new chair (Jan Wendland volunteer to be chair).

National Conference- Galaxy II Conference in Salt Lake City UT - Sept. 21-25, 2003

Youth Development-Vera - no report
Volunteer Development- Michelle Hyde reports - Ed Lowe foundation, Cassopolis - retreat - cost benefits of volunteers, Jennifer - generate revenue by going out to the community and doing program (achieving success through volunteers curriculum, classes on volunteerism, ombudsmen, financial accountability, provide training at county meetings)
