Available through your MSU Extension Office
Bulletins and Brochuress
Over 1,000 bulletins, notebooks and brochures covering a variety of agriculture related topics are available at no cost or low cost.
Research reports and department publications.
Subscriptions to specific crop reports are available.
Seasonal crop reports such as the Crop Advisory Team (CAT) Alerts.
Computer Resources
A variety of computer programs are available through the MSU Extension Office.
Educational workshops dealing with private computer programs are also conducted.
Consultations
Experts (locally, regionally and at MSU) are available for clientele to speak with on a variety of subject matter areas.
On-farm visits are available in: Field crops, dairy, fruit, livestock, swine, and vegetable production.
Demonstration Plots
A wide variety of crop demonstration plots are conducted on an annual basis.
Educational Workshops
Workshops are conducted on a local, county, area, and state-wide basis. Costs are minimal. Length varies with content.
Satellite programs for information and college credit are offered on a regular basis. Topics vary widely.
Farm Management Assistance
Both computer programs and personal assistance are available to clientele.
Micro Tel and Tel Farm are two record keeping systems available through MSU Extension.
MSUNM, nutrient and pesticide record keeping systems are available.
Newsletters
Agriculture oriented newsletters are sent to subscribing clientele on an "as necessary" basis. Clientele may subscribe by completing a newsletter request form which indicates their areas of interest.
Pesticide Recommendations and Record Keeping
Recommendations on pesticide use are available for crops produced in Michigan.
Workshops are conducted on a regular basis for crop producers.
Pest Identification
Assistance is provided to clientele to identify, diagnose and control insects, plant diseases, weeds, and other plant and animal problems.
Seed and Soil Testing
Soil tests to determine nutrient requirements for crops are available through local extension offices from MSU.
Seed tests to determine viability and seeds per pound are also available from MSU.
Educational video tapes, on a variety of topics, are available for loan locally. A few are available for purchase from MSU. Click here for a list.
