Networking

Networking is an important tool in building capacity and linking efforts to maximize impact. A number of existing networks exist to which Extension Internationalization efforts can be embedded. These include:

University of Wisconsin: http://uwex.edu/ces/international
Michigan State University Extension: http://web1.msue.msu.edu/intext
University of Maryland Extension: http://www.arec.umd.edu/Extension/International/arechome.htm
University of Florida Extension: http://international_extension.ifas.ufl.edu/
Purdue University: http://agriculture.purdue.edu/ipia/extension.html
Epsilon Sigma Phi Global Relations Committee
Association for International Agriculture and Extension Education
Association for International Agriculture and Rural Development
International Federation for Home Economics

Network Development: A major effort of the National Initiative to Internationalize Extension is the development of this website to serve as a communications hub and clearinghouse for information, resource materials and contacts to other websites throughout the various networks mentioned above. Many individuals bridge these various groups and can be carriers of information across networks. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to link to this site and/or to call our attention to resources that might be of interest to this initiative. Our colleagues in NASULGC, ECOP, ESCOP, ICOP, AIARD, AIAEE, ESP, FAO, USAID and other groups associated with GASEPA and international interests from the land grant system are especially important networks for continual sharing.
