Comments: The common name for this native tree refers to
the umbrella-like clusters of leaves at the tip of the
branches. Individual leaves can be 20 inches long, giving
the tree a rather coarse texture. The large, white
flowers (Vis. 1) can reach a diameter of 10 inches. These
are followed by 4-inch long, red fruits.
