Zelkova serrata--Japanese Zelkova

Annual Growth Rate: 12 to 18 inches
Comments: Zelkova is often listed as a replacement for
American Elm since it has roughly the same shape. However
it is not immune to Dutch Elm Disease. The fall foliage
color is reddish-bronze.
Cultivars:
'Green Vase' TM - A vigorous, somewhat upright tree with
orange fall color (Vis. 1).
'Halka' - The Zelkova with the shape that most
resembles the American Elm.
'Village Green' TM - More upright and faster growing than
the species.
