Comments: European Cranberrybush (Vis. 10) produces white
flowers (Vis. 11) in late spring. The red fruit is
ornamental (Vis. 12) from late summer to early fall and
persist into winter.
Cultivars:
'Aureum' - The leaves are golden yellow (Vis. 1).
'Compactum' - One of the finest dwarf (Vis. 2) shrubs.
Dark green foliage with an abundance (Vis. 3) of
fragrant, white flowers followed by showy (Vis. 4) red
fruit.
'Nanum' - A densely branched (Vis. 5) and mound-shaped
dwarf. Forms a trouble-free hedge in light shade or
heavy soils.
'Notcutt' - A vigorous cultivar with large (Vis. 6), red
fruits and maroon fall color.
'Roseum' - (Vis. 7) ('Sterile') - An old cultivar grown
for its rounded clusters of double (Vis. 8) white
flowers.
'Xanthocarpum' - (Vis. 9) Bears attractive, yellow fruits
which are often persistent.
