Thunbergia alata--Clockvine

Comments: Clockvine can be used in hanging pots or window
boxes. The flowers (Vis. 1) often have a dark center. The
plant has a vine type growth habit and may reach a length of
six feet. Grow clockvine in a sheltered spot exposed to sun
or partial shade. The plant needs a well-drained and not
too heavy soil.

Propagation: Propagation is by cuttings or seed. Softwood
cuttings root readily. The seed germinates in 10 to 15
days at 70 to 75 degrees. Cover the seed with about one
fourth inch of growing media. The seeds can be started
either indoors or outside.
