Height: 25 ft Spread: 20 ft Form: oval
Type: deciduous shrub
Annual Growth Rate: 12 to 18 inches

Comments: Although a lilac, this member of the species is
quite different in appearance than those with which
gardeners are more familiar. This is a very large shrub
(Vis. 1) or small tree. The white flowers, borne in early
summer, are the main ornamental feature.
Cultivars:
'Cameo Jewel' - Yellow markings on the leaves become
creamy white later in the season.
'Elliot' (Snowcap TM) - A compact selection with uniform
branching habit. A Carlton Plants selection.
'Ivory Silk' - Large clusters of creamy-white flowers
(Vis. 2) produced when the plant is still young.
'Summer Snow' - A rounded form (Vis. 3) producing
creamy-white flowers (Vis. 4).
'Willamette' (Ivory Pillar TM) - More upright and narrow
than other cultivars but attaining a pyramidal shape. A
Carlton selection.
