Rudbeckia fulgida--Orange Coneflower

Comments: Orange Coneflower is one of the more reliable
perennials. The flowers have dark, cone-shaped centers
and are perennial versions of the Black-eyed Susan. The
plant will self-seed but the seedlings may be inferior
types. Flowering occurs from mid- to late summer and the
flowers may be used for cutting. Provide a growing area
that is exposed to full sun and has a moist soil.
Propagation: Seed or division done in the spring.
Cultivars:
var. sulvantii 'Goldsturm' - Deep yellow (Vis. 1) flowers
have black, cone-shaped centers.
