Comments: This spreading plant (Vis. 1) is often used as a
tall ground cover, especially on banks. The plant is hardy
and it can grow in sun or partial shade. The main
ornamental feature is the orange to red fall color. The
female plants will bear red fruits but the flowers that
precede them are not significant.
Cultivars:
'Gro-Low' - A shorter version of the species only
reaching a height of 2 to 3 feet.
'Konza' - Shorter and more compact than the species but
taller than 'Gro-Low'.
