Annual Growth Rate: 12 to 18 inches

Comments: The tree provides a stately form (Vis. 6) with
dark green foliage (Vis. 7) in summer. English Oak does not
tolerate urban sites.

Cultivars:
'Asjes' (Rose Hill TM) - The crown is a narrow oval.
The blue green foliage turns yellow in the fall.
'Attention' - A narrow, pyramidal tree reaching a
height of 45 feet but spreading only 12 feet.
'Crimschmidt' (Crimson Spire TM) - A fastigiate
cultivar with red fall color (Vis. 2). The plant is a
hybrid of Q. robur and Q. alba and will reach a height
of 45 feet but a spread of only 15 feet (Vis. 1).
'Fastigiata' (Skyrocket TM) - This form of 'Fastigiata'
is only 15 feet wide and is uniformly narrow and
upright (Vis. 3).
'Michround' (Westminster Globe TM) - A Schmidt
introduction with a symmetrical round head reaching a
height and spread of 45 feet (Vis. 4).
'Pyramich' (Skymaster TM) - A Schmidt introduction that
is narrow (Vis. 5) when young but becomes pyramidal
with age.
