Flowers: Pink, white, single, semi-double, and double

Comments: Higan Cherry prefers an open, sunny location
sheltered from wind. The pink flowers appear in the
spring before the leaves. Higan Cherry is usually found
in landscapes in the form of one of its cultivars.

Cultivars:
'Accolade' - A hybrid between P. subhirtella and P.
sargentii with pink, semi-double flowers.
'Autumnalis' - Semi-double pink flowers (Vis. 1) that are
sometimes produced in autumn.
'Autumnalis Rosea' - The light pink flowers are
produced both in fall and spring.
'Hally Jolivette' - A 15-foot plant with a wide habit
and pink flowers (Vis. 2).
'Pendula- - A weeping cultivar with single pink
flowers (Vis. 7).
'Pendula Plena Rosea' - A weeping form with double,
pink flowers (Vis. 6).
'Rosy Cloud' - Bright, pink double flowers (Vis. 3) are
produced in profusion on an upright spreading tree.
'Snow Goose' - An upright branching tree (Vis. 4) with
white flowers (Vis. 5).
'Whitcomb' - An upright, spreading tree with single,
pink flowers produced in early spring.
'Yae-Shidare-Higan' - A weeping form with double, pink
flowers.
