Comments: Unlike some of the other garden primroses, this
one bears its flowers in spikes. The purple flowers are
set among red bracts providing a bright color combination.
The top of the spike ends in a point of red bracts.
Provide a growing area in partial shade and with a moist,
well-drained soil. Expect the plant to start growth late
in the spring and so do not give up on it too soon.

Propagation: Propagation is by seed or division.
Seedlings will flower during their second season of
growth.

Cultivars:
'Miracle' - The flowers are purplish-pink.
