Height: 60 ft Spread: 40 ft Form: pyramidal
Type: narrow-leaved evergreen tree
Annual Growth Rate: 12 to 18 inches
Comments: Austrian Pine (Vis. 2) will tolerate dryness,
exposure and road salt. The tree is susceptible to diplodia
tip blight and for this reason should probably not be used
in landscapes.
Cultivars:
'Frank' - A wide plant that grows more slowly than
Hornibrookiana'.
'Hornibrookiana' - A dwarf (Vis. 1) that is as wide as it
is tall when young. Originated from a witch's broom.
'Jeddeloh' - Needles longer and darker green.
var. pallasiana 'Arnold Sentinal' - A columnar selection
from the Arnold Arboretum.
'Obelisk' - A narrow, columnar shape.
'Pierrick Bregeon' - A dwarf cultivar.
'Pyramidalis' - Upright form, fast growth.
