Oenothera speciosa--Showy Evening Primrose

Type: herbaceous perennial
Flowers: White

Comments: This Oenothera produces white flowers that fade
to pink as they age. The flowers are about 1 1/2 inches
in diameter. The plant is not as hardy as some of the
other Oenothera and so should be given winter protection.
Provide a sunny growing area.

Propagation: Seed or division.

Cultivars:
'Pink Petticoats' - Soft colors, presumably pink.
'Rosea' - Pale pink flowers.
'Siskiyou' (O. berlanderi) - Three-inch, pale pink
flowers on plants only 8 inches tall.
'Woodside White' - White flowers.
